We’re Made to Dance: Let’s Do It! It’s been a recent aim of mine to get up from the computer more, move around, juggle, dance, have an “exercise snack”, as they say. And just today I came across this support from one of my favourite authors. Here’s an quote of his, Kurt Vonnegut, (he’s talking about when he tells his wife he’s going out to buy an envelope):
“Oh, she says well, you’re not a poor man. You know, why don’t you go online and buy a hundred envelopes and put them in the closet? And so I pretend not to hear her. And go out to get an envelope because I’m going to have a hell of a good time in the process of buying one envelope. I meet a lot of people. And, see some great looking babes. And a fire engine goes by. And I give them the thumbs up. And, and ask a woman what kind of dog that is. And, and I don’t know. The moral of the story is, is we’re here on Earth to fart around. And, of course, the computers will do us out of that. And, what the computer people don’t realize, or they don’t care, is we’re dancing animals.”
When I read this, call it an inspirational quote, I have to smile…. I think about the times my sweetie and I go out for a walk, he takes the doggie treats in his pocket, and what fun we have talking with dog owners and their friends… it often leads to lovely interactions, and a bright spot in all of our days. How easy and uplifting is that.
We’re Made to Dance: Let’s Do It! Take a break from the computer, the routine, the sitting… and dance! Or juggle, or walk, run or sing! Taking a break can make our day! How does this grab you? I’d love to hear, we’re in this together.

Dance: There’s No Tomorrow I started to write Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow! but then I thought better, and left out the ‘Like’, because there IS no tomorrow, there’s only today! But dancing like there is no tomorrow is OK too 🙂
Joy and Celebration Are Life-giving. Shall We Dance? “Life for me is, on good days, a wild and gently rhythmic dance. Moreover, I believe we are danced by life and are not, as we often pridefully assume, the directors of the dance.” Another inspirational quote — by me :-). This essay is about a pivotal moment in my life.
