Beauty is all around us — Outside and In. For weeks now the Universe has been sending me signs and messages of beauty: to pay attention to its inner and outer manifestations. For example, we are several weeks in to the explosion of the blooming in the Rhododendron garden in Stanley Park. I do not remember such glory in my entire history in
Vancouver.
There is an edition of the Daily Om that is all about Beauty. Have a look, a read, and let it sink in. “All we have to do is look for beauty and she is there all around us at any given moment.” And “Beauty speaks to us in soft whispers or bold declarations. She calls on us to gaze in awe at her splendor...”
Forms of beauty high on my list are stunning sunsets. I feel expansive, grateful to be alive; sunsets fill me up, create joy and relaxation in my heart. I love the beauty in a child’s smile. In any smile, for that matter… a stranger’s, that of a loved one. Thich Nhat Hanh says “Smile a lot.” Now there is an inspirational quote 🙂 ! Smile inside and out. Giving and receiving a smile is sooo beautiful.
I also love the suggestions from the Berkeley Greater Good site about finding beauty in our everyday lives, even when it there is much that is harsh and hard. (Nothing short of Life transformation is possible, depending on where we direct our focus.)
Here is an inspirational quote I especially like from
Amit Ray:
“Give space to life. Give time to sprout your potential — the potential to awaken the beauty in you. Awaken the beauty of your heart — the beauty of your spirit. There are infinite possibilities.” Life transformation again. And the reminder that beauty is on the inside as well as the outside… feel it, let it sink in, enjoy and share!
Where do you notice and feel beauty and how does it affect you? I’d love to hear. We’re in this together.
Wishing you a beautiful spring, unfolding, blooming. May you enjoy health and well being, joy, awe, and take some time to notice and celebrate beauty, large and small, close and distant. I invite us to let beauty transform and brighten us, soften and delight us.
For the Beauty of the Earth: The lovely hymn with this title came to mind as I woke one morning and teared up at the wonder, the splendor, the extraordinary preciousness of this Pale Blue Dot we inhabit.
My Dance With Pain: Exciting Updates. I have had several conversations with people who are dealing with pain, acute or chronic. There are some exciting new approaches available for both I invite you to check out in this post. W
hat up to recently has been misunderstood, ignored, repressed, stigmatized, now seems to be breaking into the main stream. Pain is not what we have been told it is!
