images-1Earth Day is coming soon.  Well, except that every day is earth day!  How easy to celebrate it in the spring, when the earth brings and springs forth — blossoms, babies, bounty!

Seeing these sweet duckings led me to reflect on the Mystery of life, of its unfolding, becoming… (I just love the process, the emergence, the dynamism of  becoming… that’s why I chose it as the title for my book!)Image 2

This last weekend I had the rich experience of exploring the meaning, the experience, the barriers to knowing and being Pure Presence.  It was at a Diamond Approach retreat.  I also like the name Onlyness (Trillium Awakening) as a word to express the mysterious, underlying unity of everything…

And when I saw the duckings this morning, and the stunning azaleas! the mysterious and the bloomin’ came together in a gentle pop of connection.  Mystery at core, and manifestation is all its glory — oh, what marvel it is to be alive!

imagesThomas Moore speaks eloquently about bring a sense of the sacred, the spiritual, into our everyday lives.  I was startled and even delighted that he disses some of the big, “in” words, such as Consciousness.  He doesn’t hold much truck with Mindfulness, either!  Yet he lives and breathes, writes and speaks about, the importance of Standing for the Spiritual in a Secular World.  Thomas and Tami Simon (the skilled and dedicated host of Sounds True),  muse together on the contemporary distaste for mystery.  Thomas makes a case for how the embrace of the unexplained is key for a fully embodied spirituality.

He’s not excited about all the efforts which aim to approach Mystery with evidence based experiments…We just need to grok that the Mystery is inexplicable.

What’s your relationship to Mystery?  What happens for you when you experience blooming azaleas, or duckings, or babies, or feel the flow of life, the essence of being human, the earth, stars?  Love it!Unknown
