Magical Egypt!  This is the name of the album I am creating, using an electronic ‘Mixbook.’  That’s a first, and a memorable moment for me! As I paste in the pictures, and word the text, reviewing my recent Symbolist Egypt trip, many memorable moments come to mind. The one pictured here was after our final day on the Giza Plateau, having seen the Solar Bark, the great Giza Pyramids, the Great Sphinx, all up absolutely close and personal. There we were, overlooking Cairo, where history was being made in the form of a peaceful, people’s revolution, and we were part of it — in that we chose to stay and not flee, in that we had the moving, magical, mystical, monuments essentially to ourselves, in that we were wholly in support of the people, they felt it and so did we… As I recall the energy, the resonance, the richness, of that moment, I am moved again by the grand sweep of human history, and awed by how much ancient cultures have to teach us, if we could but learn; fascinated by the breadth and wisdom of the Mystery Schools; intrigued by how and why we humans create empires, and so often seem not to learn from our mistakes, yet still have, and sometimes use, our potential for journeying toward authenticity, for being, for sharing, evolving, alone and together. Being present with awareness, telling our stories, dropping into reflection, allows a deeper mining of those moments, past or present, for their treasures, their hidden possibilities for transformation, insight, and for just plain joy and delight!
